Our Story
Technical Lift Services was founded with a simple mission: to provide professional, reliable lift engineering services with a focus on safety and quality.
Based in Dorset, we serve clients across Southern England, from residential buildings to commercial properties, healthcare facilities to industrial sites.
Our team of qualified engineers brings decades of combined experience across all lift types and manufacturers. Engineers are NVQ Level 3 & 4 qualified, with several professionally registered with the Engineering Council (EngTech / IEng) — a benchmark we actively support and fund. We're committed to continuous training and staying current with industry developments.
What sets us apart is our engineer-first approach. When you contact us, you speak directly with technical professionals who understand your equipment and can provide informed advice.

Vetted & Trusted Staff
The safety of your building occupants is our highest priority. All Technical Lift Services staff hold Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certifications, including checks against both the Adult and Child Barring Lists.
This means every engineer who enters your premises has been thoroughly vetted to work in sensitive environments, including schools, care homes, hospitals, residential buildings, and any setting where vulnerable adults or children may be present.
We maintain up-to-date DBS records for all team members as part of our commitment to providing a safe, trustworthy service that our clients can rely on with complete confidence.
Our Vetting Standards
- Enhanced DBS Checks — the highest level of criminal record check available
- Adult Barring List — checked against the list of individuals barred from working with vulnerable adults
- Child Barring List — checked against the list of individuals barred from working with children
- Ongoing Compliance — DBS records kept current and reviewed regularly
Our ethos
How we work, in three words.
We don't play hard-sell games or hide behind contracts. Our approach is built on a simple promise to every client we work with.
Open.
Transparent quotes, honest reports and direct answers — even when the answer is “you don't need this work doing yet.” You see what we see, in plain language.
Predictive maintenance.
We track wear, fault history and component life across every site so problems get caught on a planned visit — not at 2am with the lift between floors.
Genuine investment in your assets.
Your lifts are long-life assets, not a recurring callout fee. We protect their life-cycle with the right parts, the right time, the right people — so the equipment outlasts the contract.
Our Values
These principles guide everything we do, from how we train our engineers to how we deliver service to our clients.
Safety First
Safety is at the heart of everything we do. We never compromise on safety standards, and every engineer is trained to the highest level.
Engineer-Led
We're a team of engineers, not salespeople. You'll deal directly with qualified professionals who understand your lift systems.
Documentation Quality
Thorough documentation isn't an afterthought - it's essential for compliance and helps you manage your lift assets effectively.
Technical Excellence
NVQ Level 3 & 4 qualified engineers — several professionally registered with the Engineering Council (EngTech / IEng) — backed by manufacturer training and ongoing CPD.

Official Certifications

Our UKAS accreditation is limited to those activities described on our UKAS schedule of accreditation (PDF).
UKAS Accredited ISO Certifications
Our ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications are UKAS accredited, meaning they have been issued by a certification body assessed and approved by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service.
The UKAS "crown and tick" symbol signifies that our certification body is technically competent, impartial, and operates to the highest standards. This provides confidence that our management systems meet rigorous, internationally recognised criteria.
Because UKAS is part of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), our certificates are recognised worldwide, demonstrating our commitment to quality, environmental responsibility, and occupational health and safety.
Schedule 18 Certification
We are certified under Schedule 18 of the UK Lifts Regulations 2016, which sets out the quality assurance requirements for lift installers operating in Great Britain.
This certification confirms that we operate approved quality systems covering all stages from design through to final inspection and testing, ensuring lifts meet essential health and safety requirements.
Schedule 18 certification enables us to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and confirms our technical competence in the installation and maintenance of lift systems to the highest safety standards.
