- Attendance target (core area)
An unreliable lift can restrict access and disrupt a building. TLS supports fault investigation and repairs, from doors and controls to drive equipment. The appropriate repair depends on the diagnosed fault, the equipment's condition and parts availability; attendance is not a promise of an immediate return to service.

If passengers are trapped
Call the emergency line rather than wait for a web-form reply. Do not force doors or attempt a release yourself. Give the site address, lift location and any known passenger welfare concerns. If there is immediate danger or a medical emergency, contact the emergency services.
Information that helps fault finding
Describe what happened, when the fault began, whether it is intermittent and any visible error message. Include the lift location within the building and safe access arrangements. Do not enter restricted equipment spaces or reset equipment to gather information.
Repair or modernise?
A targeted repair may be appropriate for an isolated defect. Repeated failures, obsolete controls or difficult-to-source parts may justify a wider review. Discuss both immediate restoration and longer-term options before committing to a major replacement.
Attendance and parts availability
Emergency attendance targets depend on location, traffic, incident priority and engineer availability. Repair times also depend on diagnosis, access and replacement parts. Confirm arrangements for your site rather than treating a published target as a guaranteed completion time.
Common questions
Should I use the form for trapped passengers?
No. Call the emergency line immediately. Online enquiries are not a substitute for an urgent telephone report.
Can you quote before seeing the fault?
Provide the symptoms and available records first. Investigation may be needed before the repair scope and parts can be priced accurately.
Why does my lift keep breaking down?
Repeated faults need a review of service history, fault patterns and equipment condition. A temporary reset is not proof that the cause has been resolved. Arrange competent investigation rather than repeatedly resetting the lift.
Why is the lift not stopping level with the floor?
Levelling problems can have several electrical, control or mechanical causes. Report the trip hazard to the responsible person and arrange attention; do not attempt adjustments yourself.
What happens during a power cut?
Behaviour depends on the installed equipment and backup arrangements. Do not assume an automatic rescue device is fitted or operational. Passengers should use the alarm and follow the installed instructions, not force doors or attempt to leave between floors.
